Yakisugi (焼杉) ist eine traditionelle japanische Methode der Holzkonservierung durch Verkohlung mit Feuer. Yaki bedeutet "mit Feuer erhitzen", und sugi ist Zypresse. Es wird auch als "Shō Sugi Ban" (焼杉板) bezeichnet. Bei diesem Verfahren wird das Holz verkohlt, abgekühlt, gereinigt und mit Naturöl veredelt.

Super happy I decided on the YakiSugi model. The stand looks so good in all black. When fully assembled with the 55" tv (black color too) sitting on it the overall finish looks very elegant. I am glad I didn't go with a tv cabinet. JALG's minimalist look works well for me.
