The story of JALG began in 2016, in a modest workshop where the scent of wood mingled with big ideas. In those early days, each piece was shaped by hand alongside an almost 80-year-old artisan. TV stands were created from reclaimed wood sourced from historic manors and old parklands, giving new life to materials rich with history.
These first designs established the values that still guide JALG.me today: timeless form, thoughtful production, and deep respect for skilled making.
As JALG.me has grown, so have our production volumes. While reclaimed wood defined our beginnings, it is no longer the most practical or consistent solution at scale. Today, we believe the most responsible choice is to work with FSC®-certified wood, sourced from forests managed with care for biodiversity, regeneration, and long-term balance.
This transition reflects the same principles we started with—respect for materials, responsible sourcing, and building products meant to last.

Longevity is central to everything we create at JALG.me. Each piece is engineered for strength, stability, and everyday use over decades. Furniture made to endure reduces waste, limits unnecessary production, and lowers environmental impact over time.
Responsible design means thinking beyond the moment of purchase. By combining durable materials, precise construction, and lasting aesthetics, our products remain in use longer—challenging the culture of disposability that defines much of modern furniture production.
We stand behind this approach with a lifetime structural warranty, reflecting both our confidence in how each piece is built and our responsibility to support it over time.

JALG, in Estonian, means "foot” and JÄLG, in Estonian, means "footprint". If you look at our product, its physical footprint is really tiny. Literally!:) But more seriously, we figured, if we are going to make a footprint at all, it better be a sustainable one. We believe that every detail matters and our commitment to the environment extends to how we package and present our products.

About three years ago we contacted Stora Enso as we were looking for sustainable solutions for our product packaging. Stora Enso is a global leader in renewable materials, specialising in packaging, biomaterials, wood and paper. They invited us to their pilot project called PAPIRA. Papira® is a bio-based and recyclable alternative—a lightweight cellulose foam material for protective and cushioning material in packaging.

Papira Stora Enso has given hope to a new era in eco-friendly packaging. Therefore we have incorporated Papira into our packaging materials, ensuring that the TV stand you purchase from us is not only stylish but also comes with a packaging solution that's environmentally conscious.
