JALG Wins the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2024
We are proud to announce that the JALG TV Stand has received the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2024—one of the world’s most recognised distinctions for outstanding product and industrial design.
Created by Estonian designers Argo Männiste and Veiko Kallas, JALG began with a simple idea: to make the television feel like a considered part of the interior rather than a separate technical object.
“Our goal was to create a minimalist design object that people would genuinely want in their living spaces. Good design preserves the harmony of a room and creates a sense of calm—something we increasingly need in our everyday environment,”
says Veiko Kallas, JALG co-founder and designer.
The design draws inspiration from mid-century furniture, when televisions were naturally integrated into the living space. We wanted to reinterpret that relationship for contemporary homes—combining timeless proportions, minimalist aesthetics and intelligent engineering in a freestanding TV stand that complements the room around it.

Designed and made in Estonia
The Red Dot Award is also meaningful recognition of Estonian industrial design and the country’s long woodworking tradition.
Although almost all JALG TV Stands are exported, every wooden model is handcrafted in Estonia. We work with solid oak, walnut and birch, combining traditional craftsmanship with precisely engineered steel components. Our collection also includes contemporary acrylic designs.
“Although we export 99.9% of our products, 100% of our production is based in Estonia,”
says Veiko Kallas.
Since JALG was founded in 2016, our TV stands have found their way into more than 25,000 homes across 40 countries. From Japan and South Korea to Denmark, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the United States, the same idea continues to resonate: technology can belong in a thoughtfully designed interior without dominating it.
A TV stand created for contemporary living
JALG’s freestanding construction offers an alternative to wall mounting and conventional media furniture. Its restrained form allows the television to sit naturally within the room, while compatibility with standard VESA mounting patterns makes the stand suitable for most modern TVs.
For us, the Red Dot Award confirms that simplicity, functionality and careful craftsmanship can coexist in one enduring object.
The award-winning JALG TV Stand was presented at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, as part of the exhibition showcasing the winners of the 2024 competition.
We are grateful to everyone who has supported JALG and welcomed our designs into their homes. This recognition belongs not only to our designers, but also to the skilled craftspeople and partners who help us make every JALG TV Stand in Estonia.
