Meet Our Designer Argo Männiste
#StoryToStand series continues its collaborative reflections with creatives who bring a distinct inner world to their craft. This chapter introduces Argo Männiste, the designer behind JALG TV Stands.
The Acrylic Collection — a body of work shaped by travel, sound, and the poetry of light.
The collection was born in Bangkok, Argo's second home — a city that feels both chaotic and cosmic, where light, reflection, and movement constantly overlap. It is precisely this tension between sensory abundance and subtle stillness that defines his design sensibility.

Influenced by space-age design and the music of Sven Grünberg
Particularly the track "Ball" from the 1979 film Dead Mountaineer's Hotel — the intention was to create something that feels suspended, almost not fully there. The result is an object that hovers between presence and absence, structure and atmosphere.
Clear acrylic becomes the chosen medium: structurally precise, yet visually almost absent. Light passes through it, edges glow, and colors shift with the environment — turning the object into a subtle interaction between material and space.
What remains is not just an object, but an atmosphere, shaped by transparency, color, and the way light cuts through it.
This is design as lived experience — deeply personal in its origins, universal in its resonance. Argo's work embodies what #StoryToStand is all about: the uniqueness of craft, the care behind creation, and the quiet aliveness that good design carries into a space.
