Yakisugi (焼杉) is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation by charring it with fire. Yaki means to heat with fire, and sugi is cypress. It is also referred to as "Shō Sugi Ban" (焼杉板). The process involves charring the wood, cooling it, cleaning it, and finishing it with natural oil.

The gravitas imparted by the process and finished result (called "yakisugi") are undeniable, a blackening of the wood that reveals clean, distinct lines and an inherent textural beauty.

The YakiSugi model is a signature black TV stand in JALG collection and portrays a great appreciation for Japanese furniture detailing.

Minimalistic - Nice - Stable

If you don’t like the “nerdy” stand you can normally buy, this stand stands out in a very good way. The JÄLG TV stand is so nice and lightweight that it blends in very good in a modern minimalistic livingroom - fully satisfied with this product, no other stand is like this - this is a lonely wolf, standing out from all the **** stands on the market.
